BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese leading telecom operator China Telecom signed a strategic cooperation agreement last Friday with Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (Sany, 600031.SH), a heavy equipment manufacturer in China, to jointly promote application of 5G industrial Internet.
According to the agreement, China Telecom will build an industrial Internet cloud-based private network for Sany, and construct 5G private networks for each factory of the heavy equipment maker.
China Telecom will also help Sany migrate its business system to the cloud to address problems such as mass production data, limited data center capabilities, and high maintenance costs.
The two sides will set up joint 5G innovation laboratory to explore machine vision, remote intelligent driving, automated guided vehicle (AGV) and other scenarios based on 5G and mobile edge computing (MEC) capabilities. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, silviasu07@163.com)
