BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- China Evergrande Group (03333.HK) announced unaudited sales performance data on Wednesday, saying that its contract sales of properties for June amounted to approximately 76.05 billion yuan (about 10.75 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of about 51.3 percent year-on-year.
Its contract sales area for the month of June was approximately 8.553 million square meters, representing an increase of about 84 percent from the same period last year.
The listed company launched 28 new projects in June, achieving the contract sales amount of approximately 23.97 billion yuan.
According to its filing to the stock exchange, its aggregated contract sales amount of properties for the first half of 2020 stood at 348.84 billion yuan, representing an increase of about 23.8 percent year on year. The aggregated contract sales area amounted to about 38.632 million square meters, representing an increase of 47.5 percent year on year.
In the face of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the general decline in sales in the industry, the group has promoted strong sales growth through the launch of high-quality and cost-effective products to meet market demand, in particular the pioneering of online sales since February, according to the group.
