HAIKOU, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Haikou Jiangdong New Area will speed up development for better advancing the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, according to a work meeting of Jiangdong New Area presided by Ding Hui, deputy secretary of CPC Haikou Municipal Committee and mayor of Haikou Municipal People's Government.
At the meeting, the progress of Jiangdong New Area's project construction, investment promotion and other work in the past week was summarized with existing problems studied and solved, and key tasks for the next stage scheduled and deployed.
Jiangdong New Area should stick to goal-orientation approach, consolidate and refine responsibilities, keep a close eye on weekly problem list and task list to ensure that each task is carried out in fast and efficient manner.
Also, Jiangdong New Area should align with the general requirements for building a pioneer area for socialist modernization, a new benchmark for the construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, and a demonstration area for a beautiful new Hainan to attract and select investors to introduce high-quality enterprises and projects with high-quality services.
Meanwhile, the meeting called for all districts and departments to further enhance the sense of urgency and responsibility, cherish the honor for contributing to accelerating the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, seize the opportunity, and earnestly implement various key tasks such as planning, land requisition and building demolishing, administrative review and approval, and resettlement of relocation households, to deliver extraordinary achievements.
The meeting also discussed matters such as 5G selection and construction scheme in Jiangdong New Area, Harrow School's surrounding improvement, among others.
