InfoQuest (May 22, 2020)-The Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) of the Thai Ministry of Commerce (MOC) unveiled Thailand's foreign trade data in April 2020. Against the market-expected decline of 3-4.6 percent, the export value was 18.948 billion U.S. dollars, growing by 2.12 percent; the import value reached 16.486 billion U.S. dollars, shrinking by 17.13 percent; therefore, a trade surplus of 2.4623 billion U.S. dollars was achieved.
According to the general situation in the first four months of 2020 (January-April), the exports totaled 81.620 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 1.19 percent, while the imports amounted to 75.224 billion U.S. dollars, shrinking by 5.72 percent, resulting in a trade surplus of 6.396 billion U.S. dollars.
