BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- China has recently released the first group of national digital service export bases, aiming to improve the development of digital trade and service exports, reported the People's Daily Overseas Edition on Wednesday.
The national digital service export bases include 12 parks with good digital service export foundation, strong competitiveness and influence, such as ZPark, Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, Dalian High-tech Industrial Zone, Shanghai Pudong Software Park, China (Nanjing) Software Valley.
Unlike traditional high-tech zones and digital industrial parks, building these bases should focus on digital service exports, said Pan Helin with Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.
With the expanding usage of new-generation information technology, the digital economy and digital trade have gradually become major drivers of economic development and played an important role on fighting against the novel coronavirus epidemic in many areas such as online education and work.
By building digital service export bases, China will promote the digital trade development and digital technology application, foster new business models of foreign trade, create new advantages for international competition, and improve the high-quality development of service trade, said Gao Feng, spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce.
