MILAN, Apr. 22 (Class Editori) - A partnership to help companies facilitate recovery by acquiring the necessary tools and skills, which are now fundamental in the economic and social context transformed by the pandemic. To this end, Vodafone Business and Microsoft Italia have partnered to accelerate the digitalization of businesses and public administrations of all sizes. The three-year agreement provides for a joint approach to the Italian market with a portfolio of services to enable new, more efficient and safer work and business models: from smart working to Cloud solutions for business continuity, passing through services to support productivity. An ideal approach to accompany all Italian companies, including SMEs, on the digital transformation path, on whose relaunch the country's competitiveness depends.
“Continuing to support Italian companies on the digital transformation path is an imperative, and new technologies proved to be precious allies for reorganizing work patterns and business models as never before, relaunching the productivity of individual companies and the stability of the entire country”, said Silvia Candiani, CEO of Microsoft Italia. “The new agreement with Vodafone capitalizes on a consolidated agreement, which over the years has seen us collaborate to offer our solutions and our skills to support companies in any sector and size. Now we want to do more, we aim to develop joint services and to reach out to the realities in the area to meet their needs. The Cloud represents an extraordinary enabler and in this way we intend to bring it closer to everyone and extend its application scope, whether it be smartworking, data analysis or digitization of business processes”.
First of all, the partnership aims at developing solutions that support companies in the process of digitizing the way they work, enabling solutions for smart working, which is proving to be an essential element for business continuity. The solutions provide for the integration of Microsoft products (Microsoft 365, Teams and Surface) with Vodafone services (from connectivity to the most innovative services such as IoT), in a flexible as-a-service approach, oriented to the specific needs of customers, followed step by step by digitization experts.
“The emergency we are experiencing has heightened the importance for the country of having a modern telecommunications infrastructure and has accelerated the adoption of digital models by companies and administrations”, said Aldo Bisio, CEO of Vodafone Italia, “digital technologies are proving to be essential for the sustainability of business models. This will be even more evident in the definition of the new normal in the life of people and organizations. The newly signed partnership consolidates the strategic relationship with Microsoft and further strengthens our ability to enable new operating models through integrated solutions, which enrich the advanced services of Vodafone with Microsoft digital platforms”.
Equally relevant, in the context of the collaboration between the two companies, will be the joint development of an offer in the Cloud computing sector, based on both the Vodafone private Cloud and the Microsoft Azure public Cloud. The goal is to allow companies to benefit from maximum scalability, according to a hybrid model that ensures high performance and security (for example for mission-critical activities) and at the same time flexibility and value-added services (for example data analysis and artificial intelligence).
It is also expected to develop services to support the digitalization of business processes, starting from the modularity of the Dynamics 365 platform which integrates useful business applications in numerous areas: from customer and resource management (CRM and ERP) to complex data solutions analytics. Vodafone Business and Microsoft Italia also aim to jointly create applications aimed at specific vertical sectors, taking advantage of Microsoft's Power Apps and the quality of Vodafone's Giga Network as further enabling factors for increasing the productivity of businesses.
