BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- The northeastern Chinese city of Dalian will promote the development of digital economy to build itself into a large-scale national data hub and a heaven for digital technology innovation, digital industry development and digital economy application, according to an action plan on boosting digital economy recently released by the city.
To achieve the objectives, Dalian will further accelerate the construction of new digital infrastructure, enhance core digital technology innovation, promote the digital upgrading of industries, and improve digital governance, according to the action plan.
Looking into the year of 2025, the city aims to build a digital economic ecosystem, become the pioneer leading the development of digital economy in Northeast Asia, and witness the added value of core industries of digital economy increase at an annual rate of more than ten percent.
In 2019, the added value of Dalian's core digital industries reached 71.26 billion yuan, showing an increase of more than 20 percent and accounting for 10.2 percent of the city's GDP. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, silviasu07@163.com)
