SHANGHAI, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Trip.com Group, China's largest online travel agency, has donated more than 1 million facial masks to over 10 countries to support their fight against the COVID-19 outbreak, the company said Friday.
Countries including Italy, Japan, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Korea, Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia will each receive some 100,000 surgical facial masks, according to Trip.com.
The donation was among the company's latest series of actions to help the world abate the impact of the novel coronavirus.
"It is crucial at this moment in the global fight against the epidemic that all countries come together and support each other, to secure a victory for humanity," said James Liang, chairman of Trip.com, adding that the company hopes the donation would play a role in bringing countries together in a collective effort to contain the novel coronavirus.
Trip.com started a revival plan involving 1 billion yuan for the tourism industry with its partners from home and abroad in early March.
