March 30, 2020

Abstract : Local authorities in southwest China's Sichuan Province has jointly rolled out 15 measures to support business recovery and development of cultural and tourism enterprises amid the epidemic, authority said on March 28.

CHENGDU, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Local authorities in southwest China's Sichuan Province has jointly rolled out 15 measures to support business recovery and development of cultural and tourism enterprises amid the epidemic, authority said on March 28.

The measures cover varying degrees of discount or cash subsidies to some Sichuan state-owned cultural enterprises, tourist attractions, travel agencies, cinemas, publishing enterprises, radio, television, and network audio-visual enterprises affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.

A maximum interest subsidy of one million yuan will be granted to scenic spots with a rating of 4A or above, national eco-tourism demonstration zones, and national or provincial tourism operators with operational difficulties due to the epidemic.

Local travel agencies with management difficulties affected by the epidemic will be given a one-time financial subsidy of up to 200,000 yuan for each operator, while some cinemas can receive one-time support ranging from 30,000 yuan to 100,000 yuan.

Meanwhile, bookstores with business income of 2020 ranking among the top 30 in the province and an operating area no less than 100 square meters can receive a one-time subsidy of up to 100,000 yuan.

Similar subsidies will also be given to enterprises engaged in radio, television and network audio-visual business, as well as cultural enterprises that produce film and television works related to epidemic prevention and control.

To further facilitate the development of the culture and tourism industry, Sichuan will also optimize the investment of special financial funds, broaden financing channels, and support the construction of major projects under this sector.

It is noted that the measures will be implemented from March 26 and will be valid until three months after the end of the COVID-19 epidemic. (Edited by Jiang Feifan with Xinhua Silk Road, 346129473@qq.com)
