BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- China's international express delivery business has witnessed a rapid growth in the past five years. However, the country's express delivery companies are still at the start-up phase of development. Multiple measures needed to be rolled out to realize internationalization.
Jin Jinghua, a senior official with the State Post Bureau, said on Sunday that China's annual average international express delivery volume increased by 35 percent year on year in the past five years. Despite this, express delivery companies still face prominent problems such as incomplete international networks, inadequate service capabilities and imperfect product system.
In a bid to promote the international development of express delivery companies, China should strive to optimize the layout of International Mail Exchange Bureaus, accelerate the construction of international mail supervision centers, and further expedite the inbound and outbound process, said Jin.
Jin suggested that China should guide express delivery companies to develop services to key surrounding areas, such as Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Southeast Asia and Russia, and expand the delivery channels connecting Western Europe, Central Asia and the Americas.
Efforts should be made to support express delivery companies to strengthen cooperation with overseas local enterprises in warehousing management, delivery and other processes, and help them expand overseas investment, according to Jin.
