BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhua) – Since the launch of the China-Europe freight train service in March 2011, the freight train had run around 20,000 trips by the end of October in 2019, latest official data showed.
As an essential logistic channel, the China-Europe freight trains connect China with 55 cities in 18 European countries, facilitating connectivity and unimpeded trade under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Driven by the remarkable growth of the freight train business via Chinese ports, the freight trains, also named as "Steel Caravans", are connecting different provinces and regions across China to the European countries.
