HANGZHOU, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- China's car-hailing service firm Didi Chuxing has set up dedicated convoys to help ferry medical staff and residents amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.
Didi has set up five convoys to pick up medical workers in designated hospitals, which take in patients with the coronavirus, in the Chinese cities of Wuhan, Shanghai, Beijing, Xiamen and Ningbo.
Nearly 17,000 medical workers will benefit from such services, the company said.
Meanwhile, in Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic, a team consisting of 1,336 drivers has also started to provide free rides for residents in need.
According to Didi, more such fleets will be set up in other cities.
