MADRID, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish Airports and Air Navigation (AENA) Thursday signed an agreement with Chinese travel service provider CTRIP to boost air traffic between Spain and China.
The agreement was signed between AENA president and CEO Maurici Lucena and CTRIP vice-president Li Xiaoping in the presence of Spain's acting Minister for Public Works and Transport Jose Luis Abalos.
According to the agreement, a joint analysis of tourism trends to identify possible new routes between the two countries as well as possible connections to Latin America will be done.
The agreement also means AENA will look at ways to adapt its services for Chinese and Asian passengers, in issues such as restaurant food or the appointment of personal shoppers to help Chinese travelers.
"Our intention is to contribute to boosting the activity of the airlines associated with CTRIP and improve the quality and perception that Chinese travelers have of our country. We want to meet Chinese visitors better, serve them better and optimize their airport experience," explained Lucena.
Li said the agreement was a "strategic milestone" aimed at promoting transport between both countries, provide better service, strengthen bilateral relationships, help Chinese citizens get to know Spain better and make an outstanding contribution to the development of the Spanish economy.
