December 06, 2019

Abstract : In 2018, total Chinese passengers numbered 31,000, while in 2019 the airline of the Alpitour World group estimates that a total of 43,000 passengers will travel.

MILAN, Nov. 4 (Class Editori) – A new connection between Milan and Nanchang. This is the latest news in order of time for Neos. The airline of Alpitour World, founded in 2002, has quickly become one of the main realities on vacation routes. In this context, the People's Republic of China represents one of the reference markets. "In 2018, total Chinese passengers numbered 31,000, while in 2019 we estimate that a total of 43,000 passengers will travel," explains Aldo Sarnataro, commercial director of Neos. Today the People's Republic represents about 7-8% of the carrier's business. Three years ago the company entered into a partnership with Utour, one of the main Chinese operators.

The agreement allowed Neos to become the first company to operate direct charter flights between the two countries. The routes now available include connections from Malpensa to the Chinese cities of Nanjing, Guiyang and precisely Nanchang. Also for these reasons, the company was awarded last year with the China Awards in the Capital Elite category. Recently Neos participated in the Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo in Shanghai. The presence is part of the collaboration with Utour's partners. Today, the company explains, the partnership also involves Alpitour Incoming area, which deals with planning, implementing and offering foreigners travel itineraries in Italy and Europe.

The intention is to show Italy as a destination, also telling about those aspects and those less known places, often outside conventional tourist circuits. Neos and Alpitour Incoming are therefore working to extend the bouquet of destinations and tours to include new itineraries to discover the peninsula. The idea is to promote the country also as a gateway to then continue in the rest of Europe or towards Morocco.

In this sense, Neos intends to develop new synergies with Utour to promote new tours on the Chinese market. Taking stock of the last 12 months, the 2019 "was a positive year," adds Sarnataro. The company has grown in numbers and has also increased frequencies, with the addition since January of a frequency on Guiyang. The goal for 2020 is now to increase the number of Italians traveling to the People's Republic and consolidate the two connections towards Nanjing. (All rights reserved)
