NANCHANG, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- East China's Jiangxi province has intensified efforts to support the economic construction of the Internet of Things (IoT), incubating a raft of IoT startups and forming a new growth pole for economic development.
It is learned that since the province stepped up IoT construction one year ago, a total of 823 IoT enterprises have been registered in Jiangxi, up 57.7 percent year on year.
Among them, as much as 559 companies boasts the registered capital of more than 1 million yuan, of which 20 ones saw their registered capital exceed 100 million yuan.
Besides, about 772 IoT firms in Jiangxi foray into the service industry, while 446 ones are mainly engaged in information transmission, software and information technology services.
In the first three quarter of this year, Jiangxi's GDP grew 8.6 percent year on year to about 1.72 trillion yuan. (Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
