MILAN, Jun 28 (Class Editori) – Sustainability was the theme of the latest edition of IDI (Italian Design Icons), held in Chongqing, and focusing on the relationship between Italian design and environmental protection.
The project came from an idea of DP Group, led by lawyer Carlo D’Andrea, and was brought forth by Eastantcommunication&events. Ermanno Vitali, General Manager of Ansaldo Breda, pointed out how his company puts a special attention on environment when it comes to designing and producing trains, in particular in terms of energy savings and consumption impact.
iGuzzini launched “Trick”, a device employing LED light sources to create spectacular geometric effects. Meanwhile Pirelli, one of the world top players in tires production and related services provision, sent its head of natural rubber procurement, Ulrich Antoni, to explain the Natural Rubber Policy enforced by the company in 2017.
Other brands present were: Maserati, Poltrona Frau, Sfh, Ufifilters (Sofimagroup). Among the exhibitors, Powertrain Technologies Industrial (FPT Industrial), one of China’s biggest industrial engine producers, launching the “Curson13” – an high-tech diesel engine with low carbon print.
The IDI 2019 could count on the support of institutional partners like: the Italian General Consulate in Chongqing; the ITA (Italian Trade Agency); the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China; and the Italy-China Foundation. The media partners included: iChongqing; Class Editori; Chongqing Expat Guide; and Milano Finanza.
DP Group is active in spreading knowledge of Italian companies’ worth in China, as well as of the opportunities open to those same companies in the People’s Republic. Last April, the group held a successful round of seminars named “Invest in Italy: the New Italian Visa for Investors” in different Chinese cities – starting from Beijing, the capital city, reaching as far as the south-west regions, with Chongqing and Chengdu, and concluding in Shanghai, where the group has its headquarters.
They welcomed a bounty of different speakers and guests in all of their seminars. Lawyer Carlo D’Andrea, from the Studio Legale D’Andrea & Partners legal firm, and Matteo Zhi, Senior Partner of DP Group, attended in all cities, introducing their Practical Guides published by the firm. Invest in Italy and Arduino Agostinelli, Deputy GM of PHC Advisory Tax & Accounting, shared their knowledge on fiscal benefits connected with investing in Italy – focusing on super and iper depreciation, on state funding for fulfilling interest payables connected with particular debt typologies, and the tax credit for training in relevant skills as requested by Industry 4.0 standards.
Each different event hosted a number of Chinese managers and businessmen, who recounted their positive experiences in Italy. Stefano Lu Zhiwei, CEO of Daiqing Enterprise Management and former-GM of Fediao Group, gave the opening and closing speeches during the round of seminars – first in Beijing and then in Shanghai – sharing his direct experience in investing in Italy with the attending audience.
In Chongqing, the Director of Strategic Operations of East Shineray Holdings Co. Ltd., Jiang Tao, talked about his investment experience in Italy, as well as regarding the benefits available to Italian companies, and the differences and the similarities between Italy and China.
In Chengdu, Li Liu Hong, GM of TusHoldings, spoke about the Sino-Italian Design Innovation Hub – founded by the Tsinghua University e the Politecnico di Milano – and how it will contribute in promoting bilateral cooperation between Italy and China in the fields of education, scientific research, and industry, as well as assisting both countries in developing their respective strategies – like the Made in China 2025 and the Industry 4.0.
