BEIJING, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Beijing and Tianjin have jointly released a batch of measures facilitating cross-border trade in the past year, according to the source with Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau.
A total of 48 measures, focusing on saving time, cutting costs, improving efficiency, and enhancing transparency, are aimed to make cross-border trade in Beijing and Tianjin more convenient.
These measures were introduced to further shorten and streamline the trading process. Beijing and Tianjin have simplified paperwork for cross-border trade. Customs declaration and inspection form were merged into one declaration form, and the number of documents and declared items were greatly reduced.
Tianjin has invested nearly 400 million yuan to build a new intelligent entry and exit gates to solve the congestion problem. Another 4 new container bridges and 9 field bridges were launched to expand port production capacity.
According to a survey conducted by a third-party consulting agency, Beijing-Tianjin cross-border trade business environment was greatly optimized, with procedure time shortening by more than 70 percent, and enterprises' costs contracting by more than 50 percent in a year.
