BEIJING, April 19 (Xinhua) -- China's practice and efforts in the Belt and Road construction show the country's determination in enhancing international cooperation, according to a report released by Ernst & Young (EY) on Tuesday.
According to the report, facing the imbalanced world economy, rising unilateralism and protectionism, as well as complicated geopolitical situation, China has actively advocated third-party market cooperation, making it an important measure to promote the Belt and Road construction.
The report shows that since the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed by China in 2013, the innovative model of third-party market cooperation has attracted the participation of more and more developed countries. As an update, last month, Italy and Luxembourg has respectively signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) to jointly advance the construction of the Belt and Road with China.
"This cooperation model can effectively connect China's advantageous production capacity and advanced technology from developed countries with the vast development needs of other developing countries to achieve a win-win result for all parties," said Zhou Zhaomei, the global head of China Overseas Investment Network at EY.
Through this kind of cooperation, companies from related countries can better complement each other's strengths in various fields including infrastructure, energy, environmental protection, finance, etc., said the report.
It is expected that the third-party market cooperation will become a new driving force for deepening the economic and trade relations between China and developed countries, said Zhu Yaming, a senior manager at EY. (Edited by Li Wenxin, liwenxin@xinhua.org)
