Chinese robotics firm lands key partnership in Thailand

June 26, 2026

Abstract : Chinese embodied AI company AgiBot announced its collaboration with ICT distributor VST ECS (Thailand) in a partner conference here on Thursday, underscoring their commitment to bridging the intelligence of AI with practical applications for business and everyday life.

BANGKOK, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese embodied AI company AgiBot announced its collaboration with ICT distributor VST ECS (Thailand) in a partner conference here on Thursday, underscoring their commitment to bridging the intelligence of AI with practical applications for business and everyday life.

In his opening speech, Somsak Pejthaveeporndej, CEO of VST ECS (Thailand), said that what sets AgiBot's brand strategy in Thailand apart from earlier generations of robotics and legacy technologies is its repositioning from being perceived simply as a showcase of advanced engineering to becoming an "AI platform for real business applications."

This aligns well with the current priorities of Thai organizations, which are increasingly seeking value, agility, and investment flexibility rather than outright technology ownership, he said.

Beyond enabling partners to bring specialized solutions to market, the strategy is also expected to accelerate the growth of Thailand's robotics ecosystem without relying solely on the company's direct sales force, Somsak said.

Deng Feng, president of AgiBot for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region, noted that Thailand is one of ASEAN's most active markets in digital transformation and is seeing strong demand for technologies that enhance productivity.

He said the collaboration between the two companies goes beyond the import of robotic technology, aiming instead to introduce AgiBot's advanced AI systems and "Embodied AI" innovation to help accelerate the transformation of Thailand's business from the era of conventional industrial robots to a new generation of intelligent robots capable of working seamlessly alongside humans, thus unlocking infinite productivity across industries.

The Chinese company said it will work with its partner to roll out optimized product portfolios and scenario-specific solutions to help Thai enterprises achieve intelligent upgrades and productivity gains.
