MILAN, Apr 15 (Class Editori) – The two stops in China in May and October are designed to keep the Chinese attention on Rome. After signing an agreement with the online tourism giant Ctrip, the Rome and Lazio Convention Bureau is continuing to promote development opportunities and scout the dynamics of the local market.
The two missions are considered the first follow up of the collaboration started last November with the China Turism Academy, on the occasion of the international mission with ENIT and ICE, with the aim of promoting the offer of Rome and Lazio, increasing exchanges with the People's Republic.
In global growth trends, China is already the number one in the world for business and leisure travel spending, with 228 billion euros. In 2020, underlines the Bureau, which gathers 119 operators of the Meeting Industry, supported by the operators of culture and transport, China will be first as well for number of travelers. For the Italian capital, it is therefore a leading market, having recently entered the top ten arriving in Rome.
"China today represents a market of great interest for the Italian Meeting Industry and we are happy to be able to show the incredible opportunities of the offer of Lazio and Rome, one of the most desired destinations in the world", explained Stefano Fiori last November, vice president of the Rome and Lazio Convention Bureau. "It is particularly important to point out that the whole project has been joined, from a systemic point of view, by the different structures that deal with the internationalization of Made In Italy and its territory, to offer a shared and cohesive strategic approach. In addition to promoting and aggregating the area's Mice supply chain, the Convention Bureau of Rome and Lazio is, today, concentrating its commitments on the creation of an innovative platform, to promote and commercialize the destination's offer. The project will offer opportunities to dialogue with the Chinese market, also through the use of more interactive social platforms, and will be able to efficiently connect the industry with the growing incoming flows".
