US, Canadian companies to participate in Shanghai technology fair

April 12, 2019

Abstract : Companies from the United States and Canada will participate in the 7th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) for the first time, the city government said Thursday.

SHANGHAI, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Companies from the United States and Canada will participate in the 7th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITF) for the first time, the city government said Thursday.

About 100 foreign companies and research institutions from countries including Hungary, Germany and the Republic of Korea will attend the fair, which is scheduled to be held from April 18 to 20 in Shanghai.

The U.S. and Canadian companies will mainly showcase their advanced technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence, smart medical treatment, big data, financial technology and human-computer interaction.

German state Saarland and English city Liverpool, as this year's guests of honor, are invited to exhibit their latest achievements in technological innovation.

As China's only national-level technology fair, the CSITF has become an important platform for showcasing advanced technologies, and exchanges and cooperation among world technology companies.

Official statistics show that the registered contracts for technology trade in Shanghai had been elevated to 14 billion U.S. dollars last year from 4.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2012.
