Liu Hanyuan, member of standing committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of Tongwei Group, held a press conference in Beijing on March 2, and answered questions of journalists from major domestic and overseas media such as China Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and New York Times about food safety and solar PV development.
It requires policy and cognitive support and facilitating measures to ensure food security, Liu said He suggested making grain purchase policy and stored grain disposal and associated policies as a basic national policy of China.
For solar PV development, Liu believed that the financial subsidy for PV industry matters the current and future economic development transformation, energy security, and haze governance in China, and PV power is becoming the most economic power generation mode in the world.
Meanwhile, Liu proposed cutting tax and fees levy, reducing government interference, and rejuvenating PV industry through market-oriented mechanism so as to realize sustainable and green development of PV industry.
Renewable energy, such as PV power and wind power, is the major alternative energy for fossil energy. The key to solve the haze problem is to change the current energy consumption mode in China by promoting development of renewable energy.
Tongwei is advancing its fishery-PV integration strategy, targeting to turn West China into a clean energy base and realize clean development in Central and East China.
