BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Foreign trade of Fujian Province, a coastal province located in southeast China, increased 7.4 percent year on year to 119.5 billion yuan in January 2019, according to the statistics released by Fuzhou Customs District.
Data showed that, the export value increased 16.9 percent to 77.96 billion yuan, three percentage points higher than the national average growth rate. Among them, the export value of mechanical and electrical products, textile and clothing, shoes and cultural products reached 26.97 billion yuan, 14.38 billion yuan, 9.18 billion yuan and 2.71 billion yuan, up 17 percent, 14.1 percent, 22.2 percent and 66.3 percent respectively.
And the import and export value of general trade increased 10.4 percent to 89.1 billion yuan, accounting for 74.6 percent of the province’s total foreign trade value.
By area, Fujian’s trade with the European Union in January increased 27 percent to 19.12 billion yuan, and its trade with countries along the Belt and Road increased 21.2 percent year on year. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
