After three months of respite, German industrial orders took a hit once again in November.
Manufacturing orders fell by 1 per cent as compared to October, when orders rose by 0.2 per cent, the Federal Statistical Office said on Monday.
Driving the development was a downturn in orders from the eurozone, according to the office.
Orders decreased by 4.3 per cent as compared to November 2017.
July was the last time manufacturing orders fell.
The declining interest from abroad was tempered by growth in demand domestically, with orders increasing by 2.4 per cent.
The Economy Ministry said on Monday that based on the backlog of orders it expects the industrial sector to gain momentum once again, albeit at a somewhat subdued pace.
