BEIJING, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) – Qinhan New City of Xixian Area in northwest China's Shaanxi Province is endeavoring to foster cultural exchanges under the Belt and Road (B&R) Initiative through digital channels by relying on its rich historical and cultural resources.
For instance, Three Buddies, a Hi-Tech Musical Drama created by artists from home and abroad and full of chinoiserie of the Qin and Han dynasties made its debut in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi, on the evening of October 28, aiming at promoting cultural exchanges under B&R.
It is reported that the drama will continue to be staged another 19 times in Xi'an and be put on in Britain in 2019.
Besides, the city's HanYangling Museum, a national key cultural relics protection unit, has been built into a digital museum by using technologies such as 3D animation and artificial intelligence (AI), according to Duan Pengfei, chairman of a digital culture technology company in the city.
The cultural relics digital exchange and cooperation platform for countries and regions along the B&R routes built by the city is also exploring long-term mechanisms for international cultural exchanges.
Furthermore, a B&R language service and big data platform was created jointly by local authorities and a branch of Global Tone Communication Technology Co., Ltd. (GTCOM), a company focusing on big data and AI. The platform is promoted nationwide as a national pilot project for service trade.
Currently, a global multilingual call center with more than 2,000 seats is under construction in the city. Users will be able to receive online language service only with a phone call when it is completed. (Edited by Gu Shanshan)
