Digitalization is progressing – but according to a new study, people in Germany have ambivalent feelings about it. Almost a quarter of those surveyed (23.5 percent) most closely associate digitalization with a sense of curiosity, while 22.8 percent associate it with "annoyance/ aversion." In addition, uncertainty (11.6 percent) and worries/ overload (12.1 percent) are widespread. "Digitalization is no longer a technical problem," said Cisco manager Oliver Tuszik. The challenge, however, is to ensure people feel included in this process. The Californian network specialist commissioned the study.
The feeling of annoyance could also be due to the fact that implementation in Germany is not fast enough, said Tuszik, who was previously the company's general manager in Germany and will soon be responsible for the company's extensive network of partners. However, especially by international comparison, Germany is in a better position "than we often believe ourselves to be," Tuszik said.
