The pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment supplier Sartorius did better than expected business in the second quarter.
In particular, its Bioprocess Solutions Division, which offers products used in the production of biopharmaceuticals, performed better than expected.
The board of management therefore raised the sales targets for the division and the company as a whole. For the year as a whole, sales are now expected to climb by about 12 to 15 percent, Sartorius announced in Göttingen on Tuesday.
Previously, the company had projected an increase of about 9 to 12 percent.
In the first half of the year as a whole, Sartorius increased its sales revenue by 8 percent to just under 759 million euros. The adjusted profit was just under 80 million euros, compared to around 70 million euros in the first six months of the previous year.
