China Price・Hainan Tourism Consumer Price Index
China Price・Hainan Tourism Consumer Price Index (also known as Hainan TPI, hereinafter referred to as the Tourism Index) is an important indicator that reflects the direction, trend and extent of changes in the prices of goods and services related to Hainan tourism activities at different periods. In order to speed up the construction of Hainan's industrial structure that takes tourism as the leading industry and the service sector as the main pillar, and to better serve and promote the construction of an international tourism island, the Commodity Price Bureau of Hainan Province, under the guidance and support of the National Development and Reform Commission, completed the compilation and release of the main scheme of the Tourism Index in the second half of 2013 and successfully passed the national review and gained approval in January 2014. The launch and release of the Tourism Index is a bold exploration for Hainan's Commodity Price Department in boosting the construction of an international tourism island with statistics. The index is also an important part of the national price index system, filling a gap in the tourism management and service index system construction in Hainan Province and even the whole nation. It has a very critical practical significance and plays a crucial role in accelerating the construction of Hainan's industrial structure with tourism and the service sector as the leading industries, better serving and promoting the construction of the international tourism island and the establishment of tourism industry covering all parts of Hainan.
