Uruguay is a very active member of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Fernando Lugris, Uruguayan Ambassador to China, said during an interview with the Belt and Road Portal, adding that the country will continue to support the BRI and to contribute to it from Uruguay's own characteristics. Connectivity and infrastructure development are absolutely key, and BRI could open the door for investment and joint projects in order to have better infrastructure that could facilitate trade, said the Ambassador.
