China's Hubei Province has first auto vehicle import port

BEIJING, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Wuhan railway port’s whole vehicle import port has passed inspection and become the first automobile vehicle import port in central China's Hubei province.

This means an end to the history of clearing imported vehicles from other ports and more imported vehicles will reach Wuhan, capital city of Hubei, directly by China-Europe freight trains.

Wuhan so far has opened 17 China-Europe railway routes to Hamburg, Germany and Lyon, France, etc., and has radiated more than 60 cities in 28 countries in Europe and Asia.

The freight trains have maintained a rapid growth in recent years and a total of 372 trains were dispatched in 2017. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
