BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) – East China-situated Jiangxi Province has decided to strengthen infrastructure construction and international cooperation in production capacity, which are highlighted in its plan for the Belt and Road construction this year, according to a report on local news website - jxnews.com.cn.
According to a document released by the Jiangxi Development and Reform Commission, Jiangxi will speed up construction of provincial railway and aviation infrastructure in 2018 to facilitate connectivity with the outside world.
In an effort to widen land and sea transportation channels, it plans to kick off construction of the Nanchang-Jingdezhen-Yellow Mountain railway, accelerate construction of Nanchang-Ji’an-Ganzhou high speed rail, Ganzhou-Shenzhen high speed rail and Anqing-Jiujiang high speed rail, stabilize the railway-sea joint transport from the province to such cities as Ningbo, Fuzhou and Xiamen and run high speed container trains bound for coastal seaports.
As for air transport, Jiangxi plans to speed up renovating the T1 terminal of Nanchang Changbei International Airport and the Ganzhou Huangjin Airport, optimize provincial airport network, push for pilot opening-up of the Fifth Freedom of Air, craft E-commerce centralized (settlement) platform for import and export trade in airport economic zones, and strive to establish air routes and flights to Russia and Singapore.
Meanwhile, the province will continue to optimize construction of logistics system and foster Sino-Europe freight train development to realize seamless alignment of air and land transportation and create a convenient and efficient international freight transport corridor.
For boosting Belt and Road cooperation, the province will focus on building overseas industrial park and boost outbound investment and M&A to bring up export of advanced production capacity, equipment and technologies.
The province will promote cooperation in advanced industries such as aviation, automobile, PV, light industrial machinery, nonferrous metal, and bio-pharmacy and support production cooperation programs between Jiangxi Hanteng Automobile and Russian automaker Derways, Jiangxi changing aviation co., ltd. and Italian helicopter producer, phase II production capacity expansion program of the PV module factory in Malaysia and the 400MW new solar module production line in the U.S. of Jinko Solar.
