BEIJING, May 3 (Xinhua) -- China imported 149,613.7 metric tons (tonnes) of beer in the first three months of 2018, an increase of 27.1 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's beer imports amounted to 167.429 million U.S. dollars in January to March, an increase of 34.1 percent year on year. The average price was 1,119.1 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 5.5 percent year on year.
China imported 59,727.6 tonnes of beer in March, 2018, an increase of 98.2 percent month on month. The value of China's beer imports amounted to 65.756 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 80 percent month on month. The average price was 1,100.9 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 9.2 percent month on month.
Compared with March 2017, there was an increase of 9.8 percent in quantity, an increase of 21.6 percent in value, and an increase of 10.8 percent in average price. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
