BEIJING, Apr. 2 (Xinhua) -- China imported 89,871.3 metric tons (tonnes) of beer in the first two months of 2018, an increase of 42 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's beer imports amounted to 101.64 million U.S. dollars in January to February, an increase of 43.6 percent year on year. The average price was 1,131 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 1.1 percent year on year.
China imported 30,139.9 tonnes of beer in February, 2018, a decrease of 49.5 percent month on month. The value of China's beer imports amounted to 36.531 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 43.9 percent month on month. The average price was 1,212 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 11.2 percent month on month.
Compared with February 2017, there was a decrease of 2.2 percent in quantity, an increase of 5.6 percent in value, and an increase of 8 percent in average price. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
