China's leading distiller uses robot for security inspections -- China's leading alcohol brand Kweichow Moutai has trialled using an intelligent robot for security inspections. The robot is equipped with high-definition video surveillance systems and can turn around 360 degrees. It follows set routes and reports information on warehouse environment, temperature, and fire and smoke alarms.
Malaysia's Pay TV operator Astro partners with China's IQiYi -- Malaysia's Pay TV operator Astro said March 13 that it has partnered with IQiYi, a subsidiary of Chinese tech giant Baidu to offer Astro customers access to Chinese premium content. The partnership marks the first collaboration for IQiYi outside the Greater China market, it said.
Chinese firms to build large ferry for Algeria -- Algeria and China signed a contract worth $175 million for the construction of a large ferry, an official at a Chinese company told Xinhua reporter on March 12. Director of Algiers office of China Shipbuilding Trading Company (CSTC), Luo Zengqiang, said the "agreement is important for Algeria as it is due to increase Algerian maritime traveling capacity."
Boeing expands pilot training in China -- Okay Airways is to join Boeing's pilot development program, according to Boeing China March 11. Boeing will oversee screening, selection and training of 100 Okay Airways pilot cadets over the next five years in its commercial pilot development program (PDP), according to Boeing China.
BMW to recall 3,501 defective vehicles in China -- BMW China Automotive Trading Ltd. will recall 3,501 vehicles in China for defective front fork arms. The recall, which will start on March 30, will involve series of 118i, 120i, 125i, 218i, 220i and X1, according to a notice released by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
