BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua)--A Cross-Straits Gold and Jewelry Industrial Park is expected to be established in Haicang district of Xiamen, Fujian province.
The industrial park, co-built by three local renowned enterprises, will act as a whole industrial chain platform integrating production, design, cultural creation, exhibition, trade, logistics and gold financial transaction.
The park plans to advance the cooperation between gold markets in Chinese mainland and Taiwan to build a regional gold market, take part in the establishment of the development fund for the coastal city's gold market, and promote the construction of a gold bonded warehouse and a gold refinery in the city's pilot free trade zone.
Xie Zhifeng, general manager of one of the three founders, said that with the help of Haicang's advantages in cross-Straits exchanges and Taiwan's advanced jewelry processing, the industrial park is definitely going to attract related enterprises.
Lin Yuanfu, vice-president of another founder, commented that the park will boost the exchanges of the gold markets in countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road and strive to be a key carrying trade center along the road.
He also added that Xiamen's preferential policies and friendly business environment will help the industrial park achieve rapid growth.
Based on the industrial park, a Gold Town is also planned to be erected, which will become yet another name card for Xiamen.
