BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Two new data centers are to be set up by Alibaba Cloud in India and Indonesia.
The move was announced by the Chinese tech giant's subsidiary at a computing conference in Shanghai, and is aimed at providing quicker and more convenient services for overseas enterprises, reports by thepaper.cn on Sunday.
Alibaba Cloud currently operates the largest cloud computing platforms in Asia. The new facilities will bring the number of Alibaba Cloud data centers worldwide to 17.
Hu Xiaoming, President of Alibaba Cloud, said that the group hopes that the global network will provide 24-hour non-stop cloud computing services to customers.
In addition, Alibaba Cloud has also announced cooperation with India's giant Tata Communications to supply cloud computing services. Indonesian companies such as Ezytravel, Yogrt and Vshow are also signed up to Alibaba Cloud.
