BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua)-- Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu Technology Co., Ltd. and Qualcomm Incorporated announced recently that they have reached a world-wide patent licensing agreement.
According to the agreement, Qualcomm granted Meizu to develop, manufacture and sell CDMA2000,WCDMA and 4G LTE (including “3-mode” GSM, TD-SCDMA and LTE-TDD) complete devices.
The new agreement settled all patent disputes between the two companies in China, Germany, France and the United States.
Meizu President Bai Yongxiang said that the deal would add “tremendous value” to its users and shareholders.
Qualcomm is very glad to sign this agreement with Meizu and to help improve Meizu’s product line in a bid to achieve strong growth, said Alex Rogers, executive vice president of Qualcomm, adding that Qualcomm’s standardized technologies will help many companies to build new products and services, and at the same time also change people’s lives.
