BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP) kicked off in early December the welding work for the Daniela-Ronier oil field pipeline project in Chad, according to news posted on the company’s website.
The project, for which CPP was awarded an engineering procurement construction commission (EPCC) contract valued at 64 million U.S. dollars, is part of the phase 2.2 oil field project in Chad, Central Africa, undertaken by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the parent of CPP.
CPP signed on Jan. 15, 2016 the EPCC contract, under which the company is mainly to complete in 21 months by Oct. 1, 2017 one 406.4-millimeter diameter long-distance oil transportation pipeline, two valve chambers, and two stations.
Located in central and south Chad, the 74.3 kilometers long oil pipeline project is to link the Daniela oilfield with the Ronier oilfield terminal station.
Once the construction is completed, a one-month long trial operation will be started. (Edited by Duan Jing, duanjing@xinhua.org)
