BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE) 2017 will be held from August 4-6 in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province. A delegation from Slovenia’s second largest city Maribor will attend the event, aiming to promote Slovenia as a desirable tourist destination among Chinese travelers.
Activities during XSRITE 2017 will comprise business meetings with representatives of tour operators and tourist agencies, and presentations of tourist destinations and supply to the general and interested publics.
Maribor-Pohorje Tourist Board (MPTB) and their partner companies will present Maribor and Slovenia as a healthy, green and active destination boasting attractive and quality tourist supply, located in the heart of central Europe close to the well-known European cities, such as Vienna, Budapest, Venice and Milan.
Meanwhile, SHS Aviation and their airline company FlyVLM from Slovenia will seek to promote flying facilities between China and Europe.
“We are a safe destination. Our water is drinkable everywhere. The air here is fresh and unpolluted. Our country is green and forested, and we offer home-made organic foodstuffs. Most probably, Maribor airport will play an important role in the future, and thus we shall get prepared to welcome Chinese tourists,” said Doris Urbančič Windisch, director of the MPTB.
