MINSK, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Belarus hopes for resetting relations with the United States after the new U.S. administration has come to power, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said in an article published by the "Belaruskaya Dumka" magazine.
The Foreign Minister said that at present the positive trend appeares in the relationship between Belarus and the United States. In particular, he noted the lifting of sanctions against Belorusneft, BelTechExport and BelOMO, and the barriers to the work of the Belarusian potash company in the U.S. market have been removed.
On this occasion, Makei stressed that he would really like Washington to give up political inertia towards Belarus.
The minister said the achievement of the agreements on the de-escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine contributed to the strengthening of the image of Belarus as a neutral state with serious peacekeeping potential.
Makei believes that the key task is to further intensify the dialogue with the United States.
