BERLIN, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- More money from Germany will flow to African countries which can better carry out reform, local media reported Thursday, quoting German development minister.
The minister for economic cooperation and development Gerd Mueller said the former "sprinkle- style" finance for African developing countries will be replaced by a more targeted new one, which could benefit reform-oriented countries on the continent more.
"There will be more money for more reform and less money for less reform," Mueller said.
Reform refers to the "Agenda 2063", a vision and action plan put forward by African Union in 2013 with goals in rule of law, anti-corruption, human rights, good governance, etc.
Mueller also encouraged German businesses to see commercial opportunities in Africa, rather than to flinch due to some crisis and wars happening in some African countries.
Investment in Africa has been listed as one of the major tasks during Germany's G20 presidency in 2017. Enditem
