Chinese SMEs show great interests in investing in Middle East

Abstract : Chinese enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), are showing great interests in investing in Middle East, which is manifested in a forum held by the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park here on Thursday.

BEIJING, March 10 (Xinhua) –- Chinese enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), are showing great interests in investing in the Middle East, which is manifested in a forum held by the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park here on Thursday.

The forum focusing on introducing business opportunities and risks in the Middle East, attracted more than one hundred participants from Chinese companies willing to invest in the Middle East markets, most of which were small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Embassy officials and chamber representatives from the Middle East countries expressed their warm welcome for Chinese companies to invest in their countries at the forum .

The Ambassador and Commercial Counselors of the Embassy of Oman and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the economic researcher of the Embassy of the Saudi Arabia and the Head of Dubai Chamber International Office joined the forum and introduce the investment environment and opportunities of respective countries.

China has become the biggest trade partner of Oman and Chinese companies have made many investment projects in Oman's infrastructure construction, including electric power plants, airports, oil filed development and road construction, said Abdullah Saleh Al-Saadi, the Ambassador of Oman to China, adding that Chinese companies have made great contribution to the development of Oman's economic development.
