BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- China has unveiled a plan to boost scientific and technological (S&T) cooperation between China and countries along the Belt and Road.
According to the plan issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce, China plans to establish a batch of joint labs, technology transfer centers, technological demonstration centers and S&T parks with countries along the Belt and Road in the coming three to five years.
Meanwhile, China is expected to embrace over 150,000 S&T personnel from those countries for communication or training and more than 5,000 outstanding young scientists during the period.
In the mid-term, China aims to expand the S&T cooperation network to a larger region in the next ten years, with key S&T infrastructure, joint labs and platform network put into operation. Major S&T cooperation projects are expected to make fruitful achievement during the period.
The plan specifies that China will promote S&T cooperation with the Belt and Road countries in agriculture, energy, transportation, information communication, resource, environment, ocean, advanced manufacturing, new material, aerospace, medicine and disaster prevention.
