BEIJING, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- China set the first batch of mining quotas of rare earth ores in 2016 at 52,500 metric tons (tonnes), according to the Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) on Thursday.
Of 52,500 tonnes of rare earth mining quota, the quota of medium-to-heavy rare-earth minerals amounts to 8,950 tonnes, while that of light rare-earth minerals stands at 43,550 tonnes, said the ministry.
Meanwhile, the first batch of tungsten concentrate mining quotas was set at 45,650 tonnes in 2016, according to the ministry. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
