The 36th Qingdao International Beer Festival will open on July 17 at the Golden Beach Beer City in the coastal city of Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province.
Rows of domestic and international beer tents, bustling seafood stalls, dazzling light shows, music festivals and folk performances are expected to turn the venue into one of Qingdao's signature summer cultural and tourism attractions, which is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors each day.
To meet the diverse electricity demand of the full-day operation of festivities, State Grid Qingdao Power Supply Company has strengthened power infrastructure across the area and put in place comprehensive contingency measures to ensure stable and reliable power supply for the event.
The company has formulated a tiered emergency response plan in advance. Distribution lines surrounding the venue are interconnected through a ring network, while multiple power supply circuits and the main transformers at substations serve as mutual backups.
Additionally, three emergency power generation vehicles have been deployed on site and repair crews are on standby around the clock. A dispatching platform monitors the overall power load in real time and dynamically balances grid output.
As night falls, the starlight avenue will become one of the busiest attractions in the beer city, where illuminated light strips, giant naked-eye 3D screens and stage laser equipment will create a spectacular visual experience.
The company has guided the venue in deploying two uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems in the core performance area throughout the event, providing an additional layer of protection together with the external power grid to ensure the stable operation of large screens and stage audio equipment.
Ahead of the festival, the company has carried out two rounds of inspections and infrared thermal checks on key substations and distribution lines, cleared obstructions and eliminated safety hazards. It has also worked with the venue operator to test box transformers and backup power supplies while stationing personnel at key locations to respond promptly to emergencies.
As the night grows deeper, the beer city will come alive with the sounds of toasting, laughter and live music. Behind the scenes, substations, distribution lines and transformers will continue to provide reliable power throughout the festival.
