SOFIA, June 30 (Xinhua) -- A seminar themed "Understanding China's Governance, Promoting China-Bulgaria Development" was held Tuesday in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, with experts and representatives praising China's governance model and development philosophy as valuable lessons for Bulgaria and the world.
The event drew senior political figures, academics, and youth representatives to discuss not only bilateral cooperation but also the broader implications of China's political and economic strategies for global stability and growth.
Bulgarian Socialist Party's (BSP's) National Council Chairman Krum Zarkov opened the session with a strong endorsement of China's approach, saying his party is keen to draw on Chinese experience in building a more influential political organization suited to Bulgaria's own economic realities and social conditions.
Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Dai Qingli said in her speech that the Communist Party of China's important governance principles and successful practices are interconnected, which have guided the country's development and progress and also injected strong positive energy into international peace and prosperity.
Li Hongwei, professor at Capital Normal University's School of Marxism, said during the event that China's 15th Five-Year Plan signals that the Chinese market will continue to open up to the world, bringing more opportunities for Bulgarian rose oil, wine, and dairy products, which are already beloved by the Chinese people.
Experts at the seminar also exchanged views on hotspot topics, including poverty alleviation, rule-making on artificial intelligence, the resurgence of global trade protectionism, and healthcare security.
The event was co-hosted by the BSP's executive bureau, the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, Capital Normal University in Beijing, and Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with Xinhua News Agency.
