Grid operator in east Inner Mongolia hails more reliable, greener power supply in Q1

April 27, 2026

Abstract : In north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a local grid operator in charge of the eastern area grids delivered more reliable and greener electricity supply from January to March this year.

In north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a local grid operator in charge of the eastern area grids delivered more reliable and greener electricity supply from January to March this year.

Data from State Grid East Inner Mongolia Electric Power Co., Ltd. showed that its local electricity sales in the first quarter expanded to 14.02 billion kWh, a year-on-year rise of 17.82 percent, which ranked top among comparable grid operators under its parent State Grid Corporation of China.

Gross power deliveries to other regions in China grew 3.88 percent on year to 56.72 billion kWh, of which power delivered outwards via ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission lines reached a new high of 46.04 billion kWh.

Such double increases in regional and outbound power sales were unsurprising as the company gauged local power demand precisely from multiple sectors and took pragmatic measures to discover external need.

For instance, it opened green channels for key power-demanding projects, enhanced field and production site patrols, and improved online dealing efficiency via broader application of online platforms to unlock more power needs.

Through predone green power demand gauging among other Chinese localities, the grid operator integrated deeper into the national power market and bolstered off-peak hours power trading to transmit outwards more local wind and solar power.

A vertical inspection mode featuring manual patrol, visual monitoring and drone patrol was also adopted to ensure full-load transmission via its eight UHV transmission lines together with regular icing prevention inspections and potential safety hazards removal.

Apart from these, the company's around 1.8 billion yuan quarterly investment in grid-related infrastructure and smooth progression of 200-plus grid projects largely shored up its outbound power delivery capacity and boosted related local equipment manufacturing and engineering sectors.

Under such moves, the company helped channel outwards more clean power from eastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, endeavoring to turn the area into a green powerhouse.

In the future, State Grid East Inner Mongolia Electric Power will further optimize power supply and enhance UHV transmission channels maintenance to deliver higher-quality and greener energy supply for the country.
