MILAN, Jul 23 (Class Editori) -- Zucchetti Centro Sistemi (Zcs), a software house founded in 1985 by Fabrizio Bernini and part of the Zucchetti group since 2000, will manufacture inverters necessary for powering electric batteries for the SME market in a new factory under construction in a district of Terranuova Bracciolini, in the province of Arezzo, where the group was founded and developed.
The investment will be co-financed with Zcs's long-time partner, the Shenzhen-based Chinese group Sofar Solar, a global leader in energy storage technologies, inverters, and photovoltaic cells.
"Leveraging our knowledge of the electronics supply chains, we are bringing this technology home that we have so far imported," Bernini explained to T24 Economia. "These will be industrial inverters, starting from 100 kilowatts, sufficient to store renewable energy produced by a craft business, a small supermarket, or a corporate headquarters. The electronic boards will still be produced in China, but we will manufacture the mechanical parts and assembly here. We are waiting for approval from the Ministry of Economic Development to include the 'made in Europe' label".
Zcs's investments will reach €31 million, covering acquisitions, real estate, and research and development projects, including the "madness laboratory," composed of ten engineers who have developed an artificial intelligence platform integrated into Zcs's management solutions, designed to enhance business decisions and automate processes.
"The international situation is delicate," explained the president of Zcs, "but companies cannot stop; they must continue to invest because today the pace of technological change is so rapid that there are two industrial revolutions every ten years. The story of Zcs is one of creativity, courage, and optimism, because I have never seen a pessimist succeed".
The company is also constructing a Robotics Palace, with an investment of €16 million, covering 5,000 square meters, which will be ready by early 2026 and will host the group's robotics division, established 25 years ago with the Ambrogio lawnmower.
Zcs, which celebrated 40 years of activity on July 17, reported consolidated revenues of €280.5 million in 2024, with 822 employees (of which 371 in subsidiaries) and five business units. (All rights reserved)
