SAO PAULO, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese online life service provider Meituan announced Monday that it will launch its food delivery service Keeta in Brazil in the coming months and invest 1 billion U.S. dollars in the development of the project over the next five years.
Brazil is a vast market with tremendous potential, said Wang Xing, founder and CEO of Meituan, adding that Keeta aims to enhance the consumer experience, support the growth of local restaurants, and create more job opportunities in Brazil.
After entering Brazil, Keeta will establish a nationwide instant delivery network to provide local users with higher-quality food delivery services. At the same time, Keeta will offer its local partners with comprehensive services, diversified marketing tools, and digital operation tools to support the business growth of Brazilian restaurants.
Globalization is one of Meituan's long-term strategies, Wang noted, Meituan is excited to bring food delivery expertise and advanced technology to emerging markets like Brazil.
Keeta has been operating in China's Hong Kong for two years, helping its restaurant partners double their sales on the platform. Since its launch in Saudi Arabia in September 2024, Keeta has expanded to all major cities in the country, with rapid growth in both user numbers and order volume, along with a steady increase in merchant partnerships.
