BEIJING, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The recently-held 2025 Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE2025) has showcased how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies empower more intelligent, interconnected and comprehensive smart home scenarios.

The AI-driven home appliances are opening a brand new era of smart life for consumers.
At the AWE2025, Haier Smart Home unveiled its latest achievement of equipping home appliances with "visual nerve centers", allowing home appliances to be capable of serving people proactively.
The goal is to achieve "unmanned housework", according to Shu Hai, vice president of Haier Group, as the company is expediting the R&D and business layout of household service robots.
Hisense Group showcased its 116-inch RGB-Mini LED TV, which reduces energy consumption while presenting better contrast ratio and color accuracy, significantly enhancing the visual experience.
Li Wei, president of Hisense Visual Technology Co., Ltd., said that the company had achieved holistic integration and in-depth application of AI technology and TVs, making large-screen interaction simpler and smarter.
Unitree Robotics displayed its G1 humanoid robotic model and the Go2 quadruped robotic model. The robotic dog skillfully performed at the expo actions like walking, running and crawling.
Other robotic models developed by companies such as TCL and Haier also made their presentations at the event, attracting wide attention from visitors.
AI has become a key impetus of technological upgrading, product innovation and user experience improvement in the household appliance and consumer electronics industry, said Jiang Feng, executive president of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association.
-- Large models enable home appliances to "think"
The rapid progress of AI technologies, especially AI big models such as DeepSeek, is elevating the smart home future to a new height.
At the AWE2025, a number of enterprises showcased a wide range of home appliances and consumer electronics with integrated AI big models.
For instance, by integrating DeepSeek with smart home, industrial manufacturing, urban security and other sectors, Haier has been striving to speed up its pace of AI transformation.
Based on its independently developed big model, Hisense has upgraded its home appliance products toward becoming "AI housekeepers", so as to gain better understanding of user demands.
TCL has integrated DeepSeek technology to infuse more AI capabilities into its smart home, mobile communications, and other business sectors.
Hangzhou Robam Appliances Co., Ltd. has showed its AI-based big model, which can not only recommend recipes and cooking guides for users, but also generate healthy diet plans for users through facial recognition of health status and analysis of medical examination reports. It is also capable of mobilizing necessary devices to assist users through cooking process.
Large models like DeepSeek has brought about new possibilities for AI application in all sectors of life, said Jiang, noting that the development of AI large models provides a critical path for technological breakthroughs in the field of smart home appliances.
-- All-scenario smart life in line with consumer demand
Driven by the emerging technologies like AI and IoT, consumers are extending their needs beyond the functionality of individual smart products, looking for more systematic, intelligent and customized holistic smart solutions.
At the AWE2025, Huawei built an open and shared smart home ecosystem on the basis of its HarmonyOS, achieving interconnection of devices across brands and categories.
Through ecological synergy, Huawei is committed to reshaping the experience space of people, vehicles and homes by integrating personal terminals, smart vehicles and smart household appliances.
TCL showcased a whole-house smart ecosystem involving a great variety of home appliance products, including TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, mobile phones, AR glasses, e-sports displays, audio systems, AI companion robots, smart locks and so on.
